Focus Groups

As a former pastor wrote so eloquently in a cornerstone letter 75 years ago: “We stand and reach out our hands across the horizon of time to you, the children of generations yet to be born.” May our prayers, conversations, and hearts be focused on the same.

Focus Group Schedule:
January 11: Following 9:00am worship in the Sanctuary
January 18: Following 10:30am worship in the Worship Center
February 2: 6:30pm in the Church Office Large Conference Room

The leadership of St. John’s is exploring the feasibility of a ministry expansion with the following purposes:
  • Provide indoor play area the St. John’s Children’s Center (SJCC) has been lacking for decades, as well as additional classroom space. 
  • Provide additional classrooms for St. John’s Lutheran School (SJLS) as the school expands to accommodate a growing community in this side of Bakersfield. 
  • Provide additional space for the St. John’s Kidz Ministry programs and activities. 
This building is designed to be utilized extensively as a ministry tool shared by multiple areas of our ministry, specifically as we expand our reach to the next generation of Christians nurtured through this ministry. 
We need you! We need your engagement, questions, prayers and insights as we have decisions to make in the next few months regarding next steps in this process. Please, pick a meeting and come and learn more!
