Elder
What is an Elder? And what do they do for the church?
An Elder is a spiritual leader and servant of the congregation who helps provide care, guidance, encouragement, and support to the members of the church. Elders work alongside the pastors and church leadership to promote spiritual growth, strengthen relationships within the congregation, and help ensure that the church remains focused on God’s Word and its mission.
Elders may pray with and encourage members, visit those who are sick or in need, welcome and connect new members, assist with worship and Holy Communion, support the pastors in caring for the congregation, and help address the spiritual needs of the church community. Above all, an Elder leads by example through faith, service, prayer, and a commitment to sharing the love of Christ.
