Mountains in Bible
                Mt. Ararat-Noah’s Ark-Genesis 8
                Mt. Moriah-Abraham and Isaac-Genesis 22
                Mt. Sinai-Moses & Ten Commandments-Exodus 19,20

People assume(d) certain things about Jesus.

Jesus fulfilled the Law & Prophets by:
obeying its stipulations perfectly without sin.
suffering its penalty and thus satisfying the law’s requirement.
revealing the true deeper meaning and correct interpretation of the law.

Do not think that because Jesus fulfilled the law in us,
that we now have nothing to do with the law.
             Romans 10:4 & Galatians 2:21

The purpose of the Law is to point towards and prepare for Christ.
In Scripture, we are called to be hearers and doers of the Word.

The Pharisees changed the standard by which righteousness was evaluated.
              Leviticus 19:2

To sin is to miss the mark or target.

Our righteousness can and does exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees,
but only through faith in Jesus Christ.
             Romans 8:1-6 & Philippians 3:7-11

We are called to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh.

The “how” is centered in Christ’s fulfillment of righteousness in us,
thus enabling us to love God and others.
            Romans 13:8, 10 / Galatians 5:15, 6:2 / James 2:8
